A Coldness of Heart
Perhaps the most sobering prophecy isn't about politics or weather, but the human condition. 2 Timothy 3:1-3 describes the "last days" as perilous times because people will be "lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control."Social media and our modern "cancel culture" have created a landscape where empathy is scarce and outrage is the default. As Matthew 24:12 puts it, "Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold." We are seeing this spiritual "deep freeze" happen in our communities every day.
AI & Technological Realities
For centuries, prophecies about a global economic system or a world where everyone could witness a single event seemed impossible. However, Revelation 13:16-17 speaks of a time when no one can buy or sell without a specific "mark." Finally, the Bible warns that the end times will be defined by a massive "falling away" and spiritual confusion. 1 Timothy 4:1 tells us that "in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons." We live in a world where people often care more about how they feel than what is actually true. Because of this, it’s getting harder for people to tell the difference between facts and opinions. We aren’t just getting confused about what is right and wrong; it feels like the very idea of "the truth" is disappearing completely--the fulfillment of 1 Timothy 4:1.
What Now?
As these signs are unfolding "right before our eyes," the goal isn't to spark fear, but to encourage readiness. In Luke 21:28, Jesus gives the ultimate instruction for this moment: "When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
